AI Meeting Assistants & Notetakers
Programme managers spend a disproportionate share of their week in meetings, and this category exists to remove the burden of capturing what happened in them. A bot (or, in bot-free tools like Granola, a background app) joins the call, transcribes it, and produces a structured summary of decisions, owners and action items — searchable later across the entire meeting history rather than trapped in one person's handwritten notes. The differences between tools mostly come down to trust and workflow fit: some (Otter, Fireflies) are built for internal team syncs where a visible recording bot is normal; others (Granola, Fathom) are designed for client or sponsor conversations where candour matters and a bot announcing itself changes the tone of the room. The genuine time saved is in the follow-through — action items landing directly in a task tool or CRM instead of a summary nobody reopens.
