AI Content Detection
AI content detection tools analyze a piece of text and estimate the likelihood that it was generated by AI rather than written by a human, typically returning a percentage score or a highlighted breakdown of suspect sections. For a marketing department that uses AI writing tools as part of its content pipeline, this category serves a quality-control function — checking whether AI-assisted drafts still read naturally after editing, or verifying vendor- or freelancer-submitted content for transparency and compliance with internal AI-use policies. Detection accuracy in this space is imperfect and improves or degrades as underlying language models change, so results are best treated as a directional signal rather than a definitive verdict, and are rarely used as the sole basis for rejecting content. Some organizations also use these tools in reverse — as a proxy for how 'AI-sounding' content reads, since content flagged as strongly AI-generated often correlates with generic phrasing that a human editor should tighten up regardless of its actual origin.
