7. AI Performance & Load Testing
AI is increasingly used in performance engineering to generate realistic load-test scripts from recorded traffic or plain-language scenarios, to auto-scale virtual-user load patterns, and to analyse results and flag anomalous latency or error patterns that a human might miss in noisy time-series data. Grafana k6 is an open-source, developer-friendly load-testing tool (with an AI-assisted script generator and k6 Cloud for AI-driven results analysis and scaling); OpenText LoadRunun/LoadRunner Professional (formerly Micro Focus) is the long-standing enterprise option now adding AI-based anomaly detection and script generation. For a Test Manager, this category matters most for release readiness and capacity planning — knowing whether a system will hold up under real-world concurrent load before go-live — and it is usually budgeted separately from functional/regression QA tooling because it requires cloud load-generation capacity that scales with virtual-user volume.
